1. Name, Location, Status

1.1

Name of the church: Ukrainian Evangelical Church of Schwäbisch Gmünd (Ukrainische Evangelische Gemeinde Schwäbisch Gmünd).

1.2

Location: Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany.

1.3

The church is a voluntary religious association of evangelical Christians.

1.4

The church may be registered under German law as an eingetragener Verein (e.V.).

2. Foundation of Doctrine (What We Believe)

2.1 The Bible

We believe that the Holy Scripture (Old and New Testament) is the inspired Word of God and the highest authority in faith and life.

2.2 God

We believe in one God, who exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

2.3 Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the Virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose on the third day, ascended, and will come again.

2.4 The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit works today, convicts of sin, regenerates and sanctifies believers.

2.5 Baptism with the Holy Spirit

Baptism with the Holy Spirit is performed by the Lord Jesus Christ at the moment of repentance and spiritual conversion of a person.

2.6 Salvation

We believe that a person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

2.7 Water Baptism

We practice the baptism of believers by full immersion in water.

2.8 The Lord’s Supper

We observe the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of the death of Jesus Christ for believers.

2.9 The Church

We believe that the Church is the gathering of believers, and Jesus Christ is its Head.

2.10 Holy Life

We are called to live in holiness, to distance ourselves from sin, and to serve God and people.

2.11 The Second Coming

We believe that Jesus Christ will come again, and there will be a resurrection of the dead and judgment.

3. Purpose of the Church

The church exists for the preaching of the Gospel, the spiritual growth of believers, prayer, worship of God, and service to people.

4. Membership

A member of the local church may be a person who believes in Jesus Christ, is born from above, has received water baptism, desires to serve in the local church with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and agrees with the doctrine of the church.

5. Worship Services

The church holds regular worship services, prayers, and biblical teaching.

The form of worship is evangelical.

6. Church Leadership

The church is led by pastors and ministers.

Decisions are made by the brothers’ council or by the general meeting of church members.

7. Finances

Sources of funding are tithes and voluntary donations.

Funds are used for ministry and the needs of the church.

8. Amendments to the Statute

Amendments to the statute are adopted by the general meeting of church members.

9. Final Provisions

The church acts on the basis of the Holy Scripture and in accordance with the current legislation of Germany.
